     Field Trips

As the seasons are changing and the kids are beginning to fall into the routine of school, it is time to think about field trips.  We will be hosting our 6th annual hayrides, pumpkin patch and fall activities.  Our package is $10.00 per child.  Teachers, assistants, parents and grandparents are NOT charged.  The only charge for those accompanying children is anything he or she wishes to purchase from our produce stand or ice cream shop.

Included in our package :   One pumpkin per child picked from our pumpkin patch, hayride, miniature animal zoo, hay jump, potato sling, a cup of homemade ice cream, picnic area and one FREE classroom pumpkin.

Our field trip dates are Monday, October 3rd through Friday, November 4th beginning at 9:00 am.  We also are happy to accommodate groups during after school hours.  Church groups, boy/girl scouts, homeschoolers and daycares are welcome too.

Our field trips are a great way to get children interested in farming and make for excellent hands-on learning.

Classes are encouraged to bring snacks or a bagged lunch that can be served at our picnic area.  We have snacks, canned drinks, bottled water, fresh fruit and of course homemade ice cream for sell.  Clean restrooms are on site.

We want your class/group to have a memorable, fun-filled time at our facility.  So that your allotted time is not rushed, we ask that you please do your best to stay on time as we often have groups scheduled back-to-back.  Please call or email us in advance with your class ice cream flavors.  The flavors the kids can choose from are our homemade strawberry, vanilla or chocolate.  We also have sugar-free butter pecan for anyone with diabetes and snow cones are available to those with nut or milk allergies.

If you would like to extend your field trip, the Rankin Museum of Ellerbe, NC, is located just five miles north of us.  The museum offers a wonderful educational opportunity featuring Native American artifacts, a large mammal collection, fossilized dinosaur eggs and exploration of our ancestors past.  The cost is $1.00 per person.  You may call the museum at 910-652-6378 for further details.  This really is a neat place for all ages.

We are already getting call to book classes.  The earlier you call, the better your chance of getting your desired day and time.  Please  email me at aberry@carolina.rr.com  with questions or your class ice cream order.

To book a group, you must call us at 910-652-FARM(3276).

We really appreciate your support over the years at The Berry Patch during our fall festivities and thank you for allowing us to be  part of your class field trip!
